In Russia, the average car loan size increased by 5 percent

In July 2025, the Russians took loans for the purchase of cars by an average of 1.38 million rubles. This was written by the Moscow Agency with reference to the National Bureau of Credit Stories (NBBA). This is 4.9 percent more than in June, when the indicator was 1.31 million. Thus, loans in the country have been growing for the fifth month in a row.

Despite the long growth period, the average amount of car loan has not yet reached last year’s marks. So, in July 2024, it was equal to 1.47 million rubles-6.4 percent more than in July 2025.

The largest loans are expected to give out in Moscow – an average of 1.85 million rubles. In second place in the Moscow Region with 1.7 million, in third-St. Petersburg with 1.59. This is followed by the Tyumen region (from the Khanty -Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Yamalo -Nenets Autonomous Okrug with 1.51 million rubles, the Krasnodar Territory and the Leningrad Region (1.49 million each).

Car loans are growing the fastest in the Tula region – there the amount for a month added 8.7 percent. In Udmurtia, growth was 8.5 percent, in the Kemerovo region – 8.4. The only region of Russia where loans became smaller in July – the Novosibirsk region, but even there the indicator decreased only by 0.7 percent.

The Russian car market in July slightly straightened out: 120,649 new cars were sold, which allowed him to climb three steps in the European rating and enter the top 3. Only Germany and Great Britain lost to the Russian Federation. And the growth is still ongoing, reports Avtostat.
