In Russia, the recycling fee for electric vehicles has increased sharply

Last fall, the authorities introduced increased recycling rates for cars: they increased by 75-80 percent. Now the time has come for electric cars, the rate adjustment for which has been postponed until January 1, 2025. For legal entities, the fee immediately jumped 20 times – from 32.6 thousand rubles to 667.4 thousand for “green” cars under three years of age.

Before January 1, the rate for each electric car “younger” than three years old for legal entities was 1.63. The total amount, taking into account the base rate of 20 thousand rubles, was 32.6 thousand rubles. For cars “older” than three years, the rate was 6.1, and the amount was 122 thousand rubles.

In 2025, the amounts jumped to 667.4 thousand and 1.17 million rubles, respectively. And this is not the limit: the rate will increase annually, from January 1 until 2030. The average growth will be 10-20 percent. That is, in five years you will have to pay 1.17 and 2.06 million rubles for electric cars, respectively.

Autostat experts warn that rising rates will inevitably result in higher prices for electric trains. However, according to some car market players, this will not affect sales: buyers of electric cars are wealthy people, and an additional 600 thousand will not be a problem for them.

But it will not be easy for manufacturers purchasing components abroad, for example, Avtotor and Motorinvest.
