The Ministry of Finance proposes to change the currency legislation and allow the Russians to pay in cash with citizens of the EAEU, Izvestia write. According to the Law “On Currency Regulation and Currency Control”, you need to pay money to bank accounts with a non -resident of the Russian Federation for a car, as this is considered a foreign exchange operation. Moreover, this is not always possible due to restriction of cross-border translations, the Ministry of Finance notes. And in order to resolve cash payment, you will have to amend the currency legislation of the Russian Federation.
In the meantime, payment, despite the frequency of such transactions, is an illegal currency operation. It is punishable by a fine of 20 to 40 percent of the purchase amount.

In February, they took 243.4 billion rubles, which is 30.5 percent less than in February 2024, and the lowest indicator since June 2023.
