In Yandex Maps you can now share the location of your car.

The corresponding function is available in the settings of the popular navigation service. With its help, users will be able to inform loved ones about their location. You can stop broadcasting at any time.

Trusted persons will be able to monitor the user’s movements around the city. He himself will decide for how long to provide access to the broadcast.

“For example, for 15 minutes or an hour – to meet in a new place or to cross paths with a person who is already walking around the city. Or for eight hours or a day – so as not to lose each other at an event or while traveling,” notes a Yandex release dedicated to the new function.

Access to your geolocation can also be made permanent. For motorists, the broadcast will be useful when traveling in several cars. In order to turn it on, you need to click on your location on the map. After this, the application will offer to share the location with loved ones. You can stop the broadcast at any time – to do this, you need to click on your location on the map or go to the “Geolocation” section. After the broadcast ends, the icon with the user’s location will disappear from the screen of his friends.
