The capital’s Moskvich plant is preparing the fourth model – a crossover with index 8, which will become the largest in the current line. It was expected that the new product will appear on the Russian market before the end of this year, but now a new deadline has been announced – February 2025. TASS writes about this with reference to the press service of the brand.
The press service reported that the plant is ready to start production of Moskvich 8 and plans to begin sales “as early as February” 2025.
“Moskvich 8” is a seven-seat crossover that will join the twin crossovers “Moskvich 3” and “Moskvich 3e” and the liftback “Moskvich 6” in the line of the revived brand. Like other models of the brand, it is an analogue of the Chinese JAC – X8 Plus.

The new Moskvich is driven by a 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 174 horsepower (300 Nm) – 10 horsepower less than that of the Chinese donor. It is paired with a “robot”, front-wheel drive only.
The cost, according to preliminary data, will start at 2.8 million rubles. Dealers expect that the “eight” will become the second most popular “Moskvich” after the fuel crossover number 3. For comparison: for the “younger” model they are asking from 1.7 million – this is the manufacturer’s recommended price.
