It became known where the most accident occurs in Russia

In the first quarter of 2025, the leader in the number of accidents was not Moscow: Krasnodar went around the capital, writes RIA Novosti with reference to the data of the VSK insurance company. The Cuban capital accounted for 5.4 percent of all incidents registered by insurers from January to March.

The second place was taken by Moscow with a slight lag: the share of accidents that occurred in the capital amounted to 5.2 percent. The third place went to the Moscow region from 3.9 percent, the fourth – Novosibirsk with 2.8 percent, the fifth – the Republic of Bashkortostan with 2.5 percent.

The most “emergency” are drivers of VAZ, whose share in the total number of accidents was 16 percent. The following are Toyota owners (8.3 percent), Hyundai (6.1 percent) and gas (six percent). The fourth and fifth positions are occupied by KIA (5.2 percent) and Renault (four percent). However, the share of accidents with the participation of LADA is falling, analysts note.

As for the models, Lada Granta (four percent of the accident), Hyundai Solaris (2.6 percent), Kia Rio (2.5 percent) and Renault Logan (1.7 percent) turned out to be more dangerous than others. More and more often the “Chinese” participate in the accident – their share grew from four percent a year ago to almost seven. The share of corporate machines from taxi, car sharing and delivery services increased by two percent (from 18 to 20).

In general, however, the accident rate in the country is falling. In the first quarter, according to the VSK, accidents and appeals for OSAGO was recorded 49 percent less than during the same period of 2024.

According to the traffic police, over the past three months of 2025, 24 thousand traffic accidents occurred. This is 1.9 percent more than in the same period of last year.
