In February, 243.4 billion rubles took the new cars. This is 30.5 percent less than in the same month of 2024, and the smallest number over the past 21 months, that is, from June 2023, Gazprombank Auto-Stock and Avtostat reported. In addition, for the first time in a decade, February sales were smaller than January.
Compared to January, the fall in the amount of expenses for new cars turned out to be quite noticeable – 12.1 percent.
Most of all the money went to the “Chinese”: 148.6 billion rubles, or 61 percent of the total amount. In second place are domestic cars with 44.7 billion and 18.3 percent shares. The following are the “Europeans” (27.9 billion and 11.4 percent) and the “Japanese” (10.7 billion and 4.4 percent).
The revenue in the Russian car market fell to the annual minimum of the prices of cars went down – discounts reach 3 million rubles of cars of passenger cars in Russia halved
Over the past winter month, 77 thousand cars were sold-a quarter less than in February 2024, and 12 percent lower than January 2025. This is an anomaly, the authors of the study note: usually in February sales are more actively than in January.
Bad sales are explained by the fact that many Russians have already managed to buy cars in the summer or in the fall of 2024. This was pushed by a pre -announced entry into force on October 1 of new disposal rates, which were followed by rising prices. Also, buyers continue to scare away the high rate of the Central Bank.
