Mazda sales in Russia increased 14 times

In the first three months of 2026, 6,802 new Mazda cars were registered in Russia. This is 1294% more than in the first quarter of last year, when 488 cars were registered. This was reported by the head of the analytical agency Autostat, Sergei Tselikov.

“Mazda held first place among alternative brands for a long time and only by the end of the quarter lost its leadership in the Russian market to the Toyota brand,” the publication says.

Such high figures were achieved mainly due to the Mazda CX-5 model, which accounted for over 90% of registrations. This Chinese-assembled Japanese crossover was chosen by 6,183 Russian buyers.

The CX-50 and CX-30 models accounted for 4.3% and 2.6% of the brand’s sales, respectively. At the same time, 96% of all Mazda cars supplied to the Russian market are produced at Chinese facilities.
