It turned out how many LADA cars were sold since the collapse of the USSR

The Avtostat agency has been systematized by the sales of the main Russian auto -brand since 1992. From the moment of the collapse of the USSR, almost 16 million LADA cars have been found in our country. The statistics do not include the low-profile VAZ-1111 “Oka” of the Togliatti assembly and the Chevrolet Niva SUVs from the joint venture of the GM-Autsovaz, and the light commercial “frets” are taken into account.

The best year in the recent history of AvtoVAZ was 2001: then it was possible to sell 729 thousand LADA cars. The worst year is the 2022nd (182 thousand), the 2015th and 2016 (243 and 259 thousand, respectively) were also unsuccessful. It is interesting that until 2014, AvtoVAZ stably sold 400-700 thousand cars in Russia (exception-1992 and 2009), and then the demand fell significantly.

55 years later: we celebrate the anniversary of the VAZ-2101 in Lada Iskra

Last year, 448 thousand LADA cars were sold, which approximately corresponds to the mid-1990s. However, since 2013, this result is the best: for the first time in 11 years, the plant overcame the bar of 400 thousand cars. Calculated Avtostat and the number of VAZ-2101 cars remaining in the ranks. On the 55th anniversary of the “one” it turned out that almost 150 thousand sedans still cost on accounting. Most of all such cars are unexpected in the Siberian Federal District – almost a third of the total number.

In the first quarter of 2025, 81 thousand new LADA cars rose registered. The plant set a goal to repeat the result of 2024, when 525 thousand cars came off the assembly line, but it is already clear: the market is not needed yet. Expanded car loan can spur Lada sales: the Family Car program will soon be resumed.
