KamAZ dump trucks with a different design began to be assembled in Afghanistan: photo

Islamic Emirate spokesman Mawlawi Mujahid said the National Development Corporation (NDC) had successfully launched “another type of vehicle.” Since October, buses under the same brand have been assembled in Afghanistan, but they are not of Russian origin. Judging by the photographs, the basis of the Afghan NDC dump truck was the KamAZ-45141 model of 2009.

The NDC dump truck is a 6×6 truck with a long wheelbase and an old K3 cab. However, the front panel of the Afghan car is different, an add-on has appeared on top of the cabin, and an additional body kit with an integrated step has appeared below the bumper. The body is not the same as that of Russian dump trucks: its origin is unknown.

There is no similar model in the current KamAZ lineup: the closest one is KamAZ-65222, but the dump truck from Afghanistan has an older cabin with a sleeping bag and a different superstructure. There is no information about the engine of the NDC truck, but without environmental restrictions, under the hood there may be the most “ancient” V8 KamAZ-740. In the near future, the range of the National Development Corporation of Afghanistan will be replenished with new products.

The Afghan authorities do not name technological partners and talk about progress in industry and technological sovereignty. There were no plans to produce KamAZ in this country, or they were not publicly announced. But Chelny trucks will soon be registered in Venezuela: the corresponding contract has been signed.
