In an interview with Reedus, First Deputy General Director – Executive Director of KamAZ PJSC Irek Gumerov spoke about the company’s plans to expand the range of products beyond the usual trucks.
When asked by a reporter whether there are plans to expand the line of buses, electric buses and unique special equipment, Gumerov answered in the affirmative.
According to him, KamAZ is actively moving into the passenger transport segment: the line already includes modern buses, electric buses with night and fast charging that travel around Moscow, as well as trolleybuses with autonomous travel.
The model range will expand – a medium bus and Tourist type buses will appear. In addition, the company intends to expand its line of light automotive equipment and enter the market of specialized vehicles.
The most unexpected segment is forestry equipment. “KAMAZ is trying to enter even this segment. We are still testing how profitable this will be in the future,” said Gumerov, noting that the need for such equipment in the country today is greater than ever, since foreign suppliers previously dominated here.
Samples have already been transferred to customers for trial operation, and if interest is confirmed, the company will launch mass production. Another new direction is equipment for retail, where “KAMAZ has already given vehicles for testing, and some clients have started buying them. “We take into account the wishes of customers and develop equipment to suit their requirements,” summed up the first deputy general director of KamAZ.
It was previously reported that KamAZ will continue to work on a five-day schedule.
