Kia introduced the Syros mini-crossover

It shares a platform with the Hyundai Casper and Exter and is a revolutionary product for the Indian market. Many functions are used here for the first time and are simply not available on other models in the A-SUV segment. Sales of Syros will begin next year, prices have not yet been announced.

The new Kia Syros crossover has debuted in India. Like other mini-SUVs like the Hyundai Casper and Exter, it is built on the K1 truck and equipped unlike other subcompacts. Thus, an innovation for the entire A-SUV segment are rear seats that move longitudinally and are ventilated. Syros also has a panoramic roof and a complex of assistive electronics, which includes 16 systems.

The new product is made in the corporate style of “Opposites United”, with the Digital Tiger Face front end characteristic of the latest models. The Syros interior has a 30-inch diagonal widescreen display; the steering wheel is flattened both above and below; The driver has four-way power seat adjustment and sports pedals. The crossover media system has more than 80 online functions and, again for the first time in the segment, supports over-the-air updates, and in this way the firmware is downloaded to 22 on-board controllers at once.

In terms of safety, the Kia Syros also sets new heights. There is a hill start assistant, a stabilization system, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, all-round visibility, blind spot monitoring, a frontal collision avoidance system and smart cruise control with a full stop function. Under the hood are two units of the Smartstream family: a 1.0 petrol turbo with 120 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque and a 1.5 diesel with 116 horsepower and 250 Nm. Transmission: six-speed manual, DCT robot or classic automatic (only paired with a diesel engine). Front-wheel drive.

Sales of Syros will start early next year. There are no prices yet, but it is expected that the crossover will cost more than the Kia Sonet model, which is currently priced at a minimum of 799,900 rupees, or 974.3 thousand rubles.
