Kia will not give up touch screens, but will retain physical buttons to control important options

The decision was made based on the fact that not all motorists like to spend a long time delving into the multimedia menu in search of the necessary settings.

As stated by the head of interior design at Kia, Jochen Paesen, this applies to future models of the company. The goal, he explained, is not novelty for novelty’s sake, but usability.

To solve the problem, Kia introduced the new Pleos Connect system. Its key feature is the combination of a large touch screen with a separate row of physical keys.

This design is designed to eliminate the inconvenience of the current control panel in Kia cars, where one common unit is responsible for climate control and the audio system, requiring constant switching of modes.

This approach is especially important for a global brand, as drivers’ handling preferences can vary significantly across countries.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia they sell a VAZ-2101 with lambo doors and a powerful engine.
