Large SUV Zeekr 8X: first images

The car will occupy a niche between the 7X and 9X models. It will be offered in at least two versions – standard and sports, as evidenced by photos published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.

The standard version of the 8X inherits the DNA of the flagship 9X. The calling card of the model will be a massive chrome radiator grille, reminiscent of the Rolls-Royce design. The front end is complemented by claw-shaped headlights and an aggressive bumper.

The sports version (8X Sport) will receive a more brutal appearance: a black radiator grille, dark rims, orange brake calipers, a spoiler, and an extended rear diffuser with large red reflectors. Both modifications will be equipped with the same LED optics and a full-size light panel at the rear.

Bucking the trend, the new 8X will likely not be an electric car, but a plug-in hybrid, like its big brother 9X. The power plant is based on a 2.0-liter turbo engine paired with three electric motors and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries with a capacity of 55.1 or 70 kWh.

According to Chinese media reports, the top version will be able to develop up to 1381 hp. It is not yet clear whether the sports version will receive additional horsepower or will be limited to only an external tuning package, but experts are inclined to the second option.

The model will be offered in five- and six-seat versions, with an abundance of displays and a wide list of options. While it’s unlikely to match the equipment of the larger 9X, comfort and finish levels promise to remain excellent.

It was previously reported that UAZ is testing new diesel models in extreme conditions.
