Lexus says goodbye to the RC coupe with a limited special edition

The RC has been in service since 2014, with 91,000 Japanese coupes sold worldwide in more than a decade, including 12,000 of the sporty RC F. Now the RC is being retired, but before that happens, Lexus will launch a special Final Edition – in Japan, the “farewell” coupe will cost from 6.66 million yen for a regular RC (4.38 million rubles at today’s exchange rate) and from 13.6 million yen for the “charged” RC F (8.9 million rubles). Moreover, the circulation of the latter is limited to 200 copies. Production of the RC and RC F will end in November 2025.

The special version of the LC Final Edition differs from other versions of the model in black exterior mirror housings, red brake calipers and 19-inch Enkei wheels. The palette includes nine shades, and the interior trim is made of suede and microfiber in black and red colors. Plates with its name indicate that it belonged to the “farewell” edition. The RC F Final Edition, in turn, features black BBS wheels and a carbon fiber body kit.

On the Japanese market, the Lexus RC is offered in three modifications: RC 300 with a two-liter engine with 245 horsepower, a hybrid RC 300h with 223 horsepower and RC 350 with a 3.5 engine (318 horsepower) – these versions are rear-wheel drive. The RC F is powered by a five-liter engine that develops 481 horsepower.

Early last year it was reported that Lexus could replace the RC and LC with one model – a premium hybrid coupe. It will have a two-door body, but four seats in a 2+2 configuration. Insiders predict that the new product will have a powerful gas-electric unit based on a turbo-six – it could be borrowed from the Toyota Tundra.
