Lucid has declassified the design of the cheapest electric car in its line, Cosmos.

New patent documents published on June 16 allegedly reveal the design of the long-awaited Lucid Cosmos electric crossover for the first time. This model will be the brand’s first production car with a price below $50 thousand and a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y and Rivian R2, Carscoops reports.

Judging by the images, the Cosmos will inherit the signature styling of the flagship Gravity SUV. The front part will receive a large light strip and a raised lower air intake. The body profile appears smoother, with two parallel lines on the sides, and the characteristic Lucid dovetail can be seen at the rear. The new product is also distinguished from Gravity by an enlarged logo and different graphics for the rear lights.

Of particular interest are the images indicating the possible existence of different configurations. Judging by the patent, one of the options will receive a more aggressive front bumper with a massive air intake and large triangular elements at the rear. This confirms previously stated information that one of the Cosmos versions will be sporty and will be able to accelerate to 60 mph (about 97 km/h) in 3.5 seconds.

Patent drawings also reveal interior secrets. Inside, expect a minimalistic front panel with a single long display that will combine the instrument panel and multimedia screen. The center console features two dials and several storage compartments. Separate climate system deflectors are provided for rear passengers.

Earlier it became known about Volkswagen’s plans to build an army assault vehicle.
