Maserati created a car based on the GT2 racing car

The road version of the Maserati GT2 Stradale is already considered the most spectacular model of the Italian brand. And now they have prepared a special livery for it, inspired by the Maserati 250F, a two-time Formula 1 champion (1954 and 1957), Carscoops reports.

The vibrant colorway was unveiled for the first time last weekend at the Monza circuit in Italy during the opening round of the European GT2 Series. In addition to the road version of the GT2 Stradale, the only Maserati GT2 racing car also received an eye-catching color scheme.

The front of the car is decorated with a bright yellow stripe between the headlights, and most of the body is painted red. Maserati added a yellow trident to the grille and similar emblems just behind the side windows. In addition, the rear badge on the GT2 Stradale is also yellow.

The legendary status of the Maserati 250F is largely due to Juan Manuel Fangio. With this car, the Argentine won two championship titles in Formula 1, and also scored victories in Belgium, Monaco, France and Argentina. In 1956, Sir Stirling Moss drove the 250F to victories in Italy and Monaco. And in 1958, it was while driving this car that Maria Teresa de Filippis became the first woman to qualify for the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The designers exactly repeated the 250F livery on the GT2 Stradale body. As on the original, a large white number “1” appeared on the front fender on the passenger side.
