Mazda came under inspection by US authorities due to a faulty steering wheel on the CX-90

The Japanese automaker has already announced a recall campaign due to a sticking steering wheel, but the flow of complaints from car owners has not stopped and the investigation into the potentially dangerous CX-90 has been resumed.

The initial recall campaign in the United States regarding complaints from Mazda CX-90 owners about a sticking steering wheel was carried out in 2024. The situation with a suddenly increasing force on the steering wheel during a normal trip was corrected with the help of additional lubrication of the steering mechanism and a software update. However, complaints about the steering wheel sticking have not stopped. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reopened its investigation into Mazda.

A total of 26 cases of defect manifestation were recorded, two of which led to accidents. 43.7 thousand cars were under threat of repeated recall. It will be announced if the investigation determines that initial measures to correct the problem were ineffective.

Previously, the updated Haval H7 was presented for the Russian market.
