Mercedes-Benz introduced rose gold trim to the Maybach S-Class sedan

The company emphasized that the car, built on the basis of the modernized S-Class in the back of the W223, offers the maximum level of luxury, technology and personalization.

The main difference between the updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and the standard model lies in the design of the front end. Instead of horizontal slats like the regular S-Class, the Maybach radiator grille has vertical elements.

A luminous Maybach nameplate appeared on the hood, and the classic three-pointed Mercedes star also became illuminated. Similar illuminated Maybach emblems were placed on the rear pillars. When the doors are opened, brand logos appear on the ground. As the creators note, in the dark it will be almost impossible to confuse this car with a regular S-Class. LED stars appeared in the headlights and lanterns, as well as decorative elements made of rose gold.

Customers will be offered 20- or 21-inch forged wheels with a new design and fixed central emblems – a solution reminiscent of Rolls-Royce. The palette of body colors has been expanded with new shades from the Manufaktur studio.

The main innovation in the cabin is the Superscreen front panel, which combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 14.4-inch media system display and a 12.3-inch screen for the front passenger. The electronics operate on the fourth generation of the MBUX system with support for artificial intelligence and network services. New 13.1-inch screens with separate touch control panels are installed on the backs of the front seats. There is also a 10 liter refrigerator.

Particularly noteworthy is the appearance of a combined interior upholstery made from Artico leatherette and fabric made from recycled materials. This is the first time recycled materials have been used in a Maybach interior.

The updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is offered with three types of power plants.

The initial version of the S 580 is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 537 hp. and 750 Nm of torque, which is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The engine is complemented by a 48-volt electric motor.

The S 580 e plug-in hybrid is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine and an electric motor. The total output of the system reaches 585 hp. at 750 Nm of torque. The range on electric power alone is 100 km.

The top version of the S 680, depending on the market, will be offered either with a forced V8 with a power of 612 hp, or with a 6.0-liter V12, which produces the same 612 hp and accelerates the sedan to “hundreds” in 4 seconds.

Earlier, Russo-Balt spoke about the transmission of the new crossover.
