Mercedes-Benz no longer earns as much as before: profits collapsed by 50% in 2025

In the concern itself, the deterioration in financial performance is explained by several factors: duty pressure, unfavorable exchange rate differences and increasingly fierce competition, primarily from Chinese automakers.

“The net profit of the German automaker Mercedes-Benz fell by almost half in 2025 compared to a year earlier. It fell by about 49%, from €10.4 billion to €5.3 billion,” TASS reports, citing the company.

Mercedes-Benz turnover decreased to €132.2 billion (-9%), operating profit – to €5.82 billion (-57%). Total sales amounted to about 2.16 million cars, while sales in China fell by 19%.
