Named the Haval models that fall in price the fastest during resale

Analysts from the financial marketplace “Sravni” calculated and told Gazeta.Ru how quickly cars of the Chinese brand Haval depreciate in the Russian secondary market. It turned out that over 2-3 years of ownership, some models can lose more than a million rubles in price. The data was obtained based on an analysis of offers for the sale of cars manufactured in 2023–2024 with an average mileage of 50–60 thousand kilometers.

The most noticeable drop in price was for the frame SUV Haval H5: over three years its price has decreased by an average of 1.2 million rubles. The situation is slightly better for the Dargo model, which has become cheaper by 900 thousand rubles over the same period. The more compact Haval H3 loses about 650 thousand rubles in just two years, and the H7 and H9 models lose about 600 thousand rubles in three years, the study notes.

The brand’s most affordable and mass-produced models hold their price better than others. Thus, the Haval M6 and the popular Jolion SUV lose 400-430 thousand rubles in price, and the GWM Poer pickup loses about 450 thousand. This corresponds to the general market rule: the higher the demand for a car, the slower it becomes cheaper.

Experts note that the main loss of value (up to 20−30%) occurs in the first year of ownership. The price tag is also affected by frequent updates to the model range, high competition with new cars in the same price category and concerns of secondary buyers about the cost of service after the end of the warranty.

Although the localization of production in Russia ensures the availability of spare parts, in terms of the rate of depreciation, Haval is on par with other Chinese brands.
