New Audi A5L sedan: now with all -wheel drive and sportspack

In the open base of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Trade, photographs and characteristics of the four-doors from the joint plant SAIC-Audi appeared, and at the same time the press service shared pictures of new products with the QUATTRO system, Antichrom and the S-Line design package. Only the Salon of the Chinese A5L, configuration and prices remains in secret: probably the start of sales will be timed to the Shanghai car dealership in April.

Forgotten Audi

Audi A5L debuted in Guangzhou in November, but there they showed only the basic front -wheel drive version, silent about the characteristics. Now the gap has been filled: a top version with low-profile wheels, other bumpers, a radiator grill and a modified diffuser is represented.

There are no alternatives to the gasoline 204-horsepower turbo engine 2.0 and a 7-speed “robot”: in the basic version, the sedan weighs 1810 kilograms and develops 240 km/h, with all-wheel drive and S-Line package increases to 1875 kilograms, and the maximum speed drops to 238 km/h. But the Audi A5L wheelbase is only two millimeters less than that of the Global Audi A6 C8, and the total overall length is a solid 4.9 meters.

Audi changes the approach to the names of the models

The sedan itself is exclusive for China, because abroad Audi A5 is either an elevator or a station wagon. But for the largest market, it is the four-door, they will expand the palette of flowers (promised, including purple-violet), and the motor gamut, on the contrary, will be simplified to the limit. It depends on the success of the new lines whether the Audi can keep the share in the Chinese market.
