New locally assembled Skoda crossover began to be sold in Kazakhstan

The neighbors offered three trim levels of the updated Kamiq. The technology has no alternative: a 1.0 three-cylinder turbo engine is combined with a 7-speed DSG robot and front-wheel drive. The basic Skoda Kamiq was estimated at 13 million tenge (2.49 million rubles), two richer configurations cost 14.5-14.8 million tenge (2.78-2.83 million rubles). There are no promotions or discounts.

The 1.0 turbo engine in the specification for Kazakhstan develops 116 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. The initial configuration includes four airbags and curtain airbags, light and rain sensors, cruise control, a Start-Stop system, heated front seats, heated mirrors, central locking, and an audio system with a touchscreen and eight speakers. The interior is fabric, there are drum brakes at the rear, and a regular air conditioner is also installed.

The alternative is richer configurations with matrix headlights, a panoramic roof, keyless entry, a rear view camera, parking sensors, climate control, an expanded range of seat adjustments and a heated windshield. The most expensive version of the Monte Carlo has sporty accents, interior lighting, black mirrors and wheels, and red stitching. In terms of price, this Kamiq is close to the more familiar Skoda Karoq with a 1.4 turbo engine and a “robot” (from 15.5 million tenge or 2.97 million rubles).

The Skoda Kamiq is unlikely to become a market bestseller, because Chinese brands are also gaining strength in Kazakhstan. For example, the new Geely Coolray costs from 12.5 million tenge (2.4 million rubles), but already in the base it develops 174 horsepower and 290 Nm, and in addition offers disc brakes.
