Parking payment rules will be changed in St. Petersburg

Drivers will have the opportunity to change the data of the parking session – its end time, as well as information about the parked car. The Transport Committee of St. Petersburg emphasized that the driver’s obligation to begin the parking session no later than 15 minutes after stopping remains.

“Currently, the committee has organized work to coordinate the draft resolution with members of the government. The planned date for adoption of the draft resolution is until the end of March 2026,” Fontanka quotes the response to a parliamentary request, which was made public by Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Olga Shtannikova.

You can make changes to your parking session until the end of the day on which the parking fee was paid. The state registration number of the vehicle, the number of the parking zone, and the end time of the paid period of time for placing the vehicle in paid parking are subject to change. At the same time, changes to the data for a specific parking session will be allowed only once.

Also, if the user changes the car number and parking zone, he will no longer be able to change the time, and if he changes the parking end time, he will not be able to change the zone and car number.

The Transport Committee of St. Petersburg warned that the change in rules does not imply the introduction of post-paid parking: it is still necessary to start a parking session in a paid parking lot.

“The new project does not mean paying for the placement of a vehicle after the fact; the user of a paid parking must begin a parking session no later than 15 minutes after placing the vehicle in a paid parking lot and make payment for the required period of time,” the TASS agency quotes a representative of the committee as saying.
