Great Wall Motor Rus will launch contract production of Tank brand cars at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. Zhang Junxue, president of Great Wall Motor Rus, told Gazeta.Ru about this.
“This year, according to our production schedule, we are launching contract production of Tank brand cars at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. This will allow our models to be more competitive in the Russian market and take a larger share,” says Zhang Junxue.
The start of vehicle assembly is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. Cooperation between the companies Great Wall Motor Rus and Avtotor Auto Holding involves a gradual deepening of car production technology, as well as increasing the level of localization.
The first to hit the production line will be the Tank 300. It is planned to produce four versions – “Drive”, “Premium”, “City Drive” and “City Premium”, where the prefix “City” means plug-in all-wheel drive, which is based on a multi-plate clutch.
