RG: the most vulnerable spot of Chinese cars is the radiator

Spring troubles with a car usually come down to changing tires, brushes and washing. But owners of Chinese cars should install a protective mesh on the radiator – a stone on the highway can immobilize the car. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to interviewed experts.

Cars are becoming more sensitive to the quality of roads, and this is a global trend, experts explain. The heavy “indestructible” suspension is being replaced with a lighter and more precise one, since in Europe and China cars have been driving on ideal surfaces for years. But Russian conditions make their own adjustments: what works abroad may not work here.

The situation is aggravated by the transition from copper to aluminum radiators – in combination with the huge radiator grilles with large cells that characterize most modern Chinese cars.

According to experts, the greatest risk of radiator damage occurs in the summer on high-speed highways – here any pebble flies with the force of a bullet. In addition, in hot weather the thermal load on the engine is higher, and any deviation from the norm will have an impact faster. In the city, too, no one is safe: in large cities there are highways with heavy traffic, where you can stumble upon rubble from road work or fallen from a dump truck.
