The startup “Kama”, acting as the developer of the Russian electric car “Atom”, was certified according to international and Russian standards. This is not about the certification of the model, but about the standard that establishes the requirements for quality management systems. It was developed by the International Standardization Organization (ISO), and it has a Russian analogue adapted to the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Both standards, both international and Russian, are based on the principles of customer orientation, the involvement of leadership, the process approach and constant improvement. Their use helps organizations systematize processes, improve the quality of products and services, as well as meet the requirements of customers and the market.
Test of the pre-production prototype
For “atom”, passing certification means that the company uses effective business processes in the development of a product, software and the production of an electric car. For two years, audits were prepared for certification: according to the results of which the certification body confirmed that Kama meets the requirements of these standards. Employees from IT departments, research and development (R&D), product direction, HMX (Human Machine Experience), design center, industrialization, sales, after-sales service, logistics, procurement, quality management and HR took part in the preparation and passage of certification.
As for the atom itself, its production was launched on the metropolitan Moskvich in early May this year. An electric car with a length of four meters will be equipped with a rear electric motor with a capacity of 204 horsepower and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 77 kilowatt hours. The range will be up to 500 kilometers in the WLTC cycle. A year ago, the general director of Atoma outlined the price range from 2.5 to 3.5 million rubles.
