Osamu Suzuki died in Japan at the age of 95. He headed the company from 1978 to 2021. Thanks to the specialist’s decisions, the automaker managed to maintain its independence and also successfully compete with other brands in the Land of the Rising Sun. In addition, the permanent leader allowed the company to enter the largest foreign market, where Suzuki sells about half of the cars of total sales.

In the mid-1950s, Osamu built his career in banking. His life changed seriously after he married the granddaughter of Suzuki Motor founder Shoko Suzuki, from whom the man took his surname. After the wedding, Osamu became the heir to the car company.

Another important achievement of the specialist was Suzuki’s entry into the Indian market. In 1981, the Japanese company, together with the Indian government, organized Maruti Suzuki, which today occupies about half of the total passenger car market in the country.

The most influential automobile designer in history, Marcello Gandini, died in mid-March at the age of 85. The specialist worked on the creation of such unique supercars as the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari 308 GT/4.
