T-Data analysts studied the receipts of more than 50 million drivers at gas stations over a year and found out that the set of purchases at a gas station depends on the time of day, age, gender and even the make of the car. The results of the study were published in the T-Zh project and provided to Gazeta.Ru.
“Cigarettes are included in every fourth receipt at a gas station. Most often, drivers of Lada, GAZ and Chevrolet buy tobacco products – they have cigarettes in every third receipt, from 33 to 34.7% of purchases. Least of all are owners of Geely, BMW, Mercedes and Haval,” the publication says.
Analysts have discovered an interesting pattern: among drivers under 34 years of age, women are more likely to buy coffee at gas stations. However, with age, the situation changes – in the older age group, the leadership in coffee consumption passes to men.
In addition, coffee at gas stations is most often purchased at lunchtime – from 12 to 14 hours it accounts for 12% of all daily sales. At the same time, zoomers prefer energy drinks, and older drivers prefer classic coffee.
Owners of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi spend the most on related products at gas stations. Skoda and Volkswagen drivers are slightly behind them. The owners of Lada, GAZ and Honda turned out to be the most economical. Ready-made food is most often purchased at gas stations by drivers of Chinese Geely and Haval crossovers, and least often by GAZ and Lada owners, the study says.
