Tank CEO Gu Yukun said on social media that the official presentation of the new flagship model is expected in March 2026, immediately after the Chinese New Year celebrations.
The statement from the head of the brand emphasizes that the new product will become a “new generation product” and will be positioned in the luxury SUV segment. No technical details or exact launch dates have been disclosed yet.
The new Tank will be part of GWM’s large-scale offensive in the segment of large luxury hybrids. In February, documents for the flagship Wey V9X hybrid were declassified: the length of this six-seater SUV reaches 5299 mm, the wheelbase is 3150 mm. The model is built on an 800-volt architecture with a 2.0-liter turbo engine and is capable of driving up to 363 km without recharging.
Whether the new Tank will be technically unified with the V9X is still unknown. However, the very fact that information appeared indicates that the brand is preparing to launch a model at a level higher than the existing Tank 300, 400 and 500.
All key characteristics – dimensions, power plant, battery capacity and price – remain classified until the official filing of documents with regulatory authorities.
