Tesla paused the testing of a semi -automilot in China

Previously, Tesla announced that from March 17 to April 16, a free trial version of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) company semi-automatic (FSD) is available for elected electric cars. But on March 23, Chinese media found out that the tests were temporarily suspended. The FSD system corresponds to the second level of autonomy, that is, not only requires the presence of the driver, but also for him to hold his hands on the steering wheel.

Full Self-Driving unmanned movement appeared in Tesla electric cars in 2020 and is now offered in the United States by subscription worth $ 99 a month (about 8.5 thousand rubles). Last year, the head of the company Ilon Musk said that the FSD will be launched in Europe and China presumably in the first quarter of 2025, but this requires the approval of local regulatory authorities.

Carnewschina suggests that the FSD user tests paused due to the new rules of the Ministry of Industry and Informatization of the PRI (Miit), which entered into force at the end of February this year. In particular, Miit demanded that automakers notify in advance about key software updates.

New rules were introduced against the backdrop of an interest in unmanned technologies by automakers. Several large market players, including BYD, Huawei, Xpeng and Li Auto, announced that they intend to raise the level of intellectual autonomous driving systems from the second to the third in the foreseeable future. Byd said that in China “there is an era of universal intellectual driving.”

Meanwhile, in the USA they criticize the work of Full Self-Driving: there were times when the electric car on the autopilot passed the intersection to the yellow traffic light signal, moved right along the lane from which the turn was carried out, did not linger at the crossing of the Stop sign and not observe the established speed limit. As a result, in 2023, Tesla had to withdraw more than two million cars to update the FSD system.
