The average price of a new car in Russia increased by 5.7 percent

In January 2025, it almost reached four million rubles and amounted to 3.94 million, experts of Auto.ru Evaluation calculated. This is 212 thousand rubles, or 5.7 percent more than the December 2024 indicator. At the same time, in some regions, prices, on the contrary, decreased. It is most noticeable – in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where new cars on average fell by 10 percent, up to 2.54 million rubles.

In second place is the Ulyanovsk region, where the average price of a new car in January amounted to 2.37 million rubles, decreasing by 4.5 percent. The Sverdlovsk region closes with a decrease by 4.1 percent to 2.88 million rubles.

The cars were most noticeable in Moscow and Tatarstan – up to 5.23 and 3.2 million rubles, respectively. In both cases, growth amounted to seven percent. The third place was taken by the Voronezh region with a six percent increase in price, to 3.11 million.

The only model that is officially sold in Russia that has become noticeably in price is the Hongqi HS5 crossover. Its average cost decreased by 6.3 percent, to 3.89 million rubles. The most rise in price – Tank 700 (10.74 million, +9.3 percent), second -generation Haval F7 (3.23 million, +4.7 percent) and Sollers ST6 (2.6 million, +4 percent).

In January, when a period of lull is traditionally on the market, the Russians bought 89 thousand new cars. The first three places are held in popularity by Lada, Haval and Cher. Two of them managed to significantly increase sales compared to January 2024.
