As experts from the Autostat agency note, from September last year until January 2026, the average price on the secondary market remained in the range from 1.35 to 1.39 million rubles. Thus, the February result shows an increase of 2.3% compared to January of this year.
However, in annual terms, the price is still slightly lower: the February 2026 figure is 3.7% less than in February 2025 (then it was 1.47 million rubles).
the calculation is made on the basis of monitoring offers for the sale of passenger cars on the secondary market and does not take into account actual sales volumes.
Prior to this, the director of retail sales of the Avilon automobile group, Ilya Petrov, said that in March prices for new passenger cars are expected to rise within 3-6% compared to February.
Moreover, in January they have already increased by 2-4% compared to December due to an increase in VAT and the next stage of indexation of the recycling fee. As a result, the minimum increase in price for new cars with internal combustion engines in 2026 should have been 6-10%, and for powerful electric and hybrid models not localized in Russia – up to 25-35%.
