The new design of the Belgee EX50 electric crossover is reported by the STV channel. The new product differs from the original Belgee X50 (aka the pre-restyling Geely Coolray) in its “face” – in place of the radiator grille, the electric car has a glossy plug of a complex shape with diverging silver lamellas. The front bumper has also changed, but the optics remain the same. It is reported that a batch of EX50 prototypes was assembled at the Belgi plant.
The characteristics of the Belgee EX50 were declassified at the beginning of 2024, at the same time a prototype of an electric crossover based on the base was demonstrated to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The electric car is equipped with a synchronous electric motor with a nominal power of 80 kilowatts or 109 horsepower (maximum power – 120 kilowatts or 163 horsepower) and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 65 kilowatt-hours. The declared range is “more than 400 kilometers.”
The curb weight of the electric crossover is 1815 kilograms, which is 100 kilograms heavier than the Belgee X50 with an internal combustion engine.

The national electric car is being developed on Lukashenko’s instructions: by January 1, 2025, Belarus must create “the necessary technological capacities for the production of those components that are used in electric vehicles” and launch serial assembly of such cars. It was previously reported that the production of electric motors for Belarusian electric cars will be carried out by the Mogilevliftmash enterprise, which currently produces traction motors for passenger and freight transport; power electronics will be entrusted to the Izmeritel company, and batteries – 1AK-Group. The supply of battery cells is planned to be established from China, and the assembly and testing of batteries will be the responsibility of Belarusians.
