The bill proving the deprivation of a driver’s license for evasion of compensation after a traffic accident is submitted to the State Duma. The restriction is proposed to be administered if the damage exceeds 100 thousand rubles. A bill was submitted for consideration by the lower house of parliament, according to which drivers who became culprits of traffic accidents can temporarily deprive the right of driving. The sanction will be valid until the offender compensates for the damage caused to the injured party. According to the developers of the initiative, this will help effectively affect those who evade the execution of court decisions and do not draw up an insurance policy for compulsory civil liability insurance.

According to the text of the document, a temporary restriction is proposed to be introduced with the amount of damage from 100 thousand rubles and above. This threshold is established in order to exclude the application of measures to minor offenses. The explanatory note emphasizes that at the moment the driver’s license can suspend, for example, for non -payment of alimony or compensation in criminal cases, but in the case of property damage in the accident, such a sanction is not applied. This allows the perpetrators to evade responsibility without any consequences.
