According to the parliamentarian, this will help reduce the number of accidents involving minors and will increase safety. Today, anyone can purchase a sports motorcycle, regardless of age and experience. The initiative has already been sent to the heads of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Sports in order to make appropriate changes to the normative acts.

The State Duma proposed to establish restrictions on the sale of pitbikes and motorcycles to adolescents. The chairman of the youth policy committee Artem Metelev made such an initiative. He turned to the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Sports with a request to secure the norm at the level of the law, according to which it will be possible to sell such vehicles to minors only if there is a document on training in a specialized sports organization.

Metelev noted that today the purchase of a sports motorcycle is possible without restrictions: neither a driver’s license nor confirmed management skills is required for this. Meanwhile, with the onset of summer, the number of traffic accidents with the participation of motorcycles and pitbikes sharply increases, in which adolescents often suffer and die. The parliamentarian believes that the main reason for such tragedies is the lack of preparation and control by adults.

At the beginning of the year, Russia has already discussed a ban on the use of electric scooters by minors. The corresponding proposal was received from the Ministry of Transport, where they prepared the draft law on the establishment of age -related restrictions for users of personal mobility.
