The Director General of UAZ revealed the sales plans of the diesel “Patriot” and “Profi”

In an interview with Izvestia, Alexei Spirin said that the transition to a new unit is due to market requirements. According to UAZ, the share of diesel “patriots” will be 15-20% in the total sales; “Prof” on “heavy” fuel will choose every second client. The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant believes: the difference in the price between gasoline and diesel versions will pay off for one and a half to two years.

Alexei Spirin did not run ahead and disclose prices for diesel versions of UAZ. The top manager promised that the plant’s products would be “much cheaper than the nearest competitors”. According to experts, Patriot with a diesel engine will rise in price by at least 250 thousand rubles. Not only the engine will change: the Flagship UAZ will receive a different gearbox, a “handout”, modern LED optics, and other components of the interior and exterior.

The general director of UAZ promised that the updated Patriot would remain a full -fledged SUV, but it would become more comfortable for everyday use and safer. According to Avtostat in 2024, 9.8 thousand “patriots” and 5.3 thousand “Profi” were sold in Russia. Thus, in the future, UAZ plan to annually release at least four thousand diesel SUVs and trucks.

However, statistics do not take into account the supply of UAZ to state customers, so the picture is not quite objective: the third year the sales driver remains the SGR family (the old cargo series). The share of “loaf” and “tadpoles” is up to half of the total number of UAZ cars sold. In 2021, the situation was different: 40% of sales were provided by Patriots.
