The Federal Customs Service has launched a service for checking the payment of recycling tax by VIN number

A section has appeared on the website of the Federal Customs Service that allows you to clarify whether a recycling fee has been paid for a specific vehicle. This is a useful option that will help you avoid buying a car that has debts.

“This service reflects information about the paid recycling fee in relation to wheeled vehicles imported into the Russian Federation from April 1, 2022,” the Federal Customs Service clarifies.

If there is no information about the recycling fee, vehicle owners are advised to contact the customs authority to obtain the appropriate clarification.

The service will be primarily useful to those who buy a car or other transport imported into the Russian Federation by unofficial suppliers.

Earlier it became known that the court canceled the additional charge of recycling tax for a car from Kazakhstan.
