The flagship crossover Subaru Getaway with the dynamics of a sports car was presented in New York

This is a three-row, seven-seater car on the same platform as the Toyota Highlander EV, The Drive reports. Sales will start at the end of 2026.

The Getaway’s design has been called one of the best in Subaru history, with a stylish and streamlined body. Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.0-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Spotify support.

The second row can be equipped with either captain’s chairs or a standard sofa; If necessary, the seats can be moved with a button for easy access to the third row.

The Getaway debuts in a dual-motor, all-wheel drive version with a 95.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. The power of the power plant is 420 hp, the range without recharging exceeds 480 km. Charging is supported through the NACS port, the maximum power is 150 kW, which allows you to replenish the charge from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes. A version with a 77.0 kWh battery will appear early next year, which will also retain all-wheel drive.

Subaru engineers also took care of off-road characteristics: ground clearance is 210 mm. The X-Mode system features Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes, complemented by Grip Control and Hill Descent Assistant. Acceleration from 0 to 97 km/h takes less than 5 seconds.

Standard equipment will include 19- or 20-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, wireless charging for two smartphones, multiple USB-C ports, and atmospheric lighting. For an extra charge, a panoramic glass roof, a rear view camera, heated second and third row seats, as well as ventilated front and rear seats will be available.
