The head of AvtoVAZ called the main projects of the plant in 2025

At a meeting on the development of regional suppliers of the automotive industry, Maxim Sokolov identified three main production tasks. Firstly, AvtoVAZ expects to launch the LADA ISKRA conveyor. Secondly, master the new 1.8-liter motor for the Lada Niva family. Thirdly, resume the assembly Lada Vesta Sport. Moreover, the difficulties of the industry remain the same.

The head of AvtoVAZ said that “constant work on the optimization of the cost of components and, accordingly, finished products” is determining. Maxim Sokolov emphasized that although, according to forecasts, 2025 will be a crisis, the prospect for all enterprises of the industry is the development of their own cars and their own independent platforms.

The deadlines for the implementation of the main production tasks are generally clear. The LADA ISKRA conveyor will be launched on April 19, and within a couple of months the plant expects to move on to rhythmic assembly of the entire family. In the second half of the year, Lada Niva Travel debuts with a new 8-valve engine with a volume of 1.8 liters, and by the end of the year the power unit will appear on the Niva Legend.

As for the updated Lada Vesta Sport, which Maxim Sokolov called the “second generation”, the exact dates are not disclosed. However, it is already clear that the “charged” sedan will save the engine with a volume of 1.8 liters in the forcing version of 144 horsepower, and the main innovation will be the transition from the French 5-speed “mechanics” Renault to the Chinese 6-speed transmission Wly.
