The head of Bentley explained the reasons for the refusal of the flagship sedans

Frank-Stefan Walliser, in an interview with Automotive News, made it clear that the company’s plans do not mean the release of the mulsanne successor. The top manager admitted: the full-size sedan had its own audience, but in modern conditions the model would be niche with limited demand. Investments in the development of a new sedan are hardly economically appropriate, so Bentley will focus on other segments.

For almost five years, the role of the Bentley flagship has been playing a more massive, but less prestigious Flying Spur, which has recently been transferred to the fourth generation. And the future British brand connects with crossovers: Bentayga has been holding leadership for many years, and the tastes of buyers do not even think of changing. In the future, Bentley will annually release one electrified new product.

There is no talk of a complete rejection of the internal combustion engine: the company decided not to rush to the transition to the electric trough, replacing the cooling of buyers. Nevertheless, the first Bentley electric car debuts in the second half of 2026, it will again be a crossover. Despite Trump’s duties and the slowdown of the Chinese economy, the first quarter of 2025, British Mark spent confidently.

According to rumors, for some markets, the “charged” Bentley Bentayga will be released, which will receive a non -giby V8 with a capacity of 600 horsepower. The novelty will replace the Speed version in the range, which was discontinued due to the resignation of the 6.0-liter W12.
