The head of Li Auto criticized sedans for lack of space

Li Auto CEO Li Xiang once again answered the question that worries many: why has the company not yet released a sedan? According to him, it’s not a matter of reluctance, but a contradiction with the main philosophy of the brand, IT Home reports.

“It’s not that we don’t want to make sedans,” Li Xiang wrote on social media. “But sacrificing space and comfort for the sake of form is contrary to our desire for a “feeling of home.” And if you make the sedan taller to maintain comfort, the proportions and appearance will suffer.”

Li Xiang called the flagship L9 Livis the most complete embodiment of the current design philosophy: “Externally – proportions and posture, inside – a feeling of home. Eastern culture values homelessness, and this is the main thing for us.”

Let’s remember that back in 2025, Li Xiang said that Li Auto would enter the sedan market only after the current models (SUVs and MPVs) achieve annual revenues of 300 billion yuan.
