The Honda CR-V crossover will receive an off-road version of TrailSport

It will be added to the range simultaneously with the launch of the updated model, which is planned for this year. Similar to the Passport TrailSport and Pilot TrailSport, the off-road version of the CR-V will differ in exterior design and, possibly, equipment.

The Honda CR-V crossover will be updated this year and, following the Pilot and Passport, will receive the TrailSport off-road version. It is not yet known whether any changes in technology are planned, but outwardly the “Trailsports” will definitely be easily recognizable. For example, the Passport, in addition to its steel underbody protection, stands out with its glossy black exterior trim and amber-illuminated running lights. And the Pilot TrailSport has all-terrain tires and its own exterior color, Diffused Sky Blue.

The sixth generation CR-V debuted in 2022. The crossover has increased in size, received rich initial equipment and acquired an upgraded Real Time AWD all-wheel drive and hill descent assistant. From now on, the transmission can direct up to 50 percent of the thrust to the rear axle, which should have a positive impact on safety and off-road capabilities. In America, the CR-V is equipped with a 1.5 turbo engine paired with a CVT or a hybrid power plant based on the 2.0 four. European buyers have access to only the second option plus the e:PHEV system, like the SUV for China.

In addition, the hydrogen CR-V e:FCEV is sold in Japan and the United States. Its power plant includes fuel cells with a capacity of 125 horsepower, an electric motor (176 hp, 311 Nm) and a battery with a capacity of 17.7 kilowatt-hours. The latter acts as a buffer, as in conventional FCEVs, but can also act as an independent source of energy with support for Level II charging (AC, 240 V). With a full battery, the crossover travels 47/60 kilometers (EPA/WLTP), the total range is 435/600.
