Toyota, together with the Finnish manufacturer Harvia, has created an experimental sauna heated using a hydrogen heater. According to the developers, this is the world’s first sauna of this type. It does not produce carbon dioxide emissions, but releases only heat and water. The project is still conceptual, but Toyota consider it an important step in the development of hydrogen technologies and alternative energy sources.
The Japanese company Toyota and the Finnish Harvia have developed an innovative sauna that uses a hydrogen heater. This is the world’s first project of this kind, and its authors consider it as a way of studying new directions in environmentally friendly energy. As noted in Toyota, the device is completely safe for the environment, since carbon dioxide does not release during operation – only heat and water.

Development is currently considered conceptual: the terms of possible serial production are not called. The company explained that the choice of Finland as a platform for the presentation is not accidental. There are about 3.3 million saunas in the country with a population of 5.5 million people. It is planned to present the project to the public at the end of July during the Rally of Finland.
At the beginning of the year, Toyota introduced the first of all the “smart” city of Woven City, the construction of which is underway in the Japanese prefecture of the Sizuook at the foot of Mount Fuji. The project covers the territory of 700 thousand square meters and is conceived as a training ground for testing autonomous vehicles. The technology received within the framework of the project will further be introduced into Toyota cars.
