The innovative Renault fire extinguishing system has become available to all

The company allowed Fireman Access technology for free, which was developed in conjunction with firefighters. It is reduced by the time of extinguishing the battery of hybrids and electric vehicles from several hours to less than 10 minutes.

Fireman Access technology, developed by Renault Group, together with fire brigades to combat the fire of traction batteries, will now be available to everyone. Car and spare parts manufacturers can get a free license through a special collaborative platform. But in return, they must agree that all the changes introduced into the technology will be visible to other members of the community.

Renault in Russia can still buy Renault Logan, assembled on AvtoVAZ

The Fireman Access system today is installed on Renault, Dacia, Alpine and Mobileize cars. If it is very brief, it is a metal “safety disk” on the battery housing. In a normal situation, it does not affect tightness, but shifts from a powerful stream of water from a fire hose, allowing you to fill the cells and thereby preventing thermal acceleration. With Fireman Access, the battery extinguishing time is reduced from several hours to about 10 minutes, which is comparable to the usual car. At the same time, water is consumed ten times less.

Renault will surprise the new concept of Renault with aerodynamics and “long -time”

The program of cooperation with the fire departments was launched by Renault in 2010. In addition to Fireman Access, on which as many as seven patents were designed during the development, the result of the cooperation was the introduction of a special QRScue QR code and the so-called SD switch. The first allows even in the absence of mobile communication to get all the technical information about the car, the second forcibly disconnects the battery from the electric system.
