For Vladimir Putin, yesterday’s visit to AvtoVAZ became the first in almost 14 years: the last time the Russian leader was at the enterprise in May 2011 and tested the new Lada Granta at that time. Since then, the largest Russian car manufacturer managed to survive the transition under the Renault-Nissan wing and nationalization after a break with a foreign alliance. Now AvtoVAZ is again entirely governed by the state, so Putin’s meaning is difficult to overestimate.

The tone of the event was set by the head of the auto giant Maxim Sokolov: the top manager directly stated that the plant “opened the veil of commercial secrets” so that everyone would see how AvtoVAZ will develop in the future. The nail was a demonstration of the full -sized layouts of two crossovers and minivan: the novelties do not even have names, but two cars promise to launch in the series until 2027.

The nearest novel will be a crossover based on Vesta or the B-Cross project. The first executive vice president of the strategy and technical development of AvtoVAZ Evgeny Shmelev said that the model was developed by the efforts of young designs, which were inspired by modern gadgets. The car will be located at the junction of segments B+ and C, that is, it can be considered a mass -body analogue of the Haval Jolion.

Evgeny Shmelev said that the full-fledged Lada B-Cross prototype will be shown in June at the PMEF-2025. Proof of a high degree of readiness of the project is the first body welded on the main line of the conveyor. Industrial equipment is already ready; in the near future, pilot machines will be released at the plant for technology. There are about 460 parts in the skeleton of the crossover, of which 135 nozzle from Vesta.

The AvtoVAZ emphasized that the high rate of development of the new model can be maintained because on the basis of the process of welding the body worked out. Partial unification with Vesta allowed to save on stamping equipment and facilitate development. B-CROSS is promised to establish serial production in 2026. Earlier it was reported that the LADA crossover will not have all -wheel drive, but the design will “turn out to be a bomb”.

However, Vladimir Putin was shown a crossover with the name T-134, stylized under the classic “Niva”. The representative of LADA confirmed that the Vesta platform will also be based and expressed the hope that the model will find its place in the market.

The T-134 project is an adaptation of the design of the “Niva” of the third generation to the domestic platform b/c. Initially, the crossover was created around the foreign architecture of CMF-B-LS and was supposed to become the Russian analogue of the new Duster. The similarity with the Romanian “state employee” is obvious if you compare the angle of the roof tilt and the front doors. And the exterior design is based on the concept of four years ago.

According to the “Auto Treaty” of real research and development developments on the T-134 project, not carried out, and the prospects of the car are dependent on state support. In any case, before 2028, the crossover will not appear in the series. The name T-134, which “refers to the glorious past”, was not chosen by chance: associations with Soviet T-34 tanks and Tu-134 airliners on the surface. However, Vladimir Putin confirmed that the name could still change.

The novelty confirmed for serial production is the B-Van minivan. The president was demonstrated by a layout with a non-final design: the final option is agreed within a month and a half. The same -winner on the Vesta platform implies a seven -seater salon with a full -functional third number of chairs and good access to the “gallerine”. Evgeny Shmelev confirmed that the length will be 4.6 meters, and the minivan will stand on the conveyor in 2027.

AvtoVAZ positions B-Van as a family car that complements Lada Largus. The relatively fast development is explained by partial unification with the B-Cross crossover: the models may have a common nasal part, the same suspension, almost identical front parts of the cabin. Perhaps the minivan will be declassed into the PMEF-2026, because the debuts at the event were included in the tradition.
