The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has expanded the list of luxury cars subject to luxury tax

The current version of the document, published on the official website of the department, lists 573 models. For comparison: a year ago the list consisted of 555 positions, TASS reports.

All cars on the list are divided into two price categories. The first includes 305 models with an average cost of 10 to 15 million rubles. The second – 268 models, the price of which exceeds 15 million rubles.

The updated list includes not only traditional representatives of the premium segment (Audi, Bentley, BMW, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Aurus), but also many Chinese brands (Aito, HiPhi, Hongqi, Lixiang, Voyah, Zeekr, M-Hero, Byd, Tank). The list also includes Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Xiaomi, McLaren, Tesla and other brands.

Let us recall that the system of increased transport tax coefficients has been in effect in Russia since 2014. Initially, it applied to cars costing more than 3 million rubles. However, after 2022, the threshold was changed: now the luxury tax is charged only on cars costing over 10 million rubles. This rule applies to vehicles purchased after January 1, 2022.
