The Japanese Toyota Auto Concert confirmed the work on a new sports car, which can become the heir to the cult model of Celica. The development is carried out taking into account the opinions of key dealers, which have already demonstrated preliminary sketches and prototypes of the car. So far, the exact date of the car entering the market has not been named, but the running tests of the platform and the power unit have already begun.

In addition, the GR Celica brand was registered in Brazil, which confirms the company’s intention to maintain a historical name. Contrary to global trends, the new version of the sports car will not become a full -fledged electric car, but will remain true of the concept with a gasoline engine.
