Compared to 2023, the fleet of car sharing services has increased by 18 percent. There are also more users: their number increased over the year by 13 percent, to 1.7 million.
According to the development strategy of the Moscow transport complex, car sharing was supposed to reach the 40 thousand cars mark only by 2030. The average age of rental cars is one and a half years; they are used five to six times a day.
In general, Muscovites make an average of 146 thousand trips on car sharing cars per day, according to the Department of Transport. The number of trips for the year increased to 53 million, which is four percent more than in 2023.

Since 2018, car sharing operators have been supported by subsidies. In 2023, they were allocated 225 million rubles: this amount partially covered the costs of purchasing 11 thousand cars.
Previously, experts calculated that it is more profitable to own a personal car or car sharing. Maintaining a personal car costs 200-220 thousand rubles, which is 14.5-34.5 thousand rubles cheaper than using carsharing. However, the calculations did not include the price of the car itself, which costs an average of 1.19 million on the secondary market.
