The Togliatti manufacturer will begin producing crossovers at the beginning of 2026. AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov said this at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Izvestia writes. Thus, at least six months will pass from the premiere of the model: the crossover should debut in the summer of 2025 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
It is known that the AvtoVAZ crossover will be built on the basis of the flagship Lada Vesta. Its development is already at the final stage, insiders say: the first body of the HGH project car will be welded by the end of December. The equipment for the model should already be ready.

So far there are only photographs of test mules of the crossover, and the final design will be revealed in June of the coming year at SPIEF. It is clear that the new product will differ from Vesta at least with a stretched wheelbase and increased ground clearance.

It can be assumed that the engine range will include a combination of the 1.8 Evo engine with 122 horsepower and a Chinese six-speed manual transmission. However, AvtoVAZ, of course, does not provide information about the “equipment”.
What the new product will be called is also unknown. AvtoVAZ recently registered two new names – Retiva and Altra. But this does not mean that they will be used. Since 2020, the auto giant has staked out a whole scattering of trademarks that still remain on paper: Astera, Azimut, Gravis, Merida, Tarusa, XTour, Alta, Mira, Avira and Sfera.
